Are you an experienced Nurse with a burning passion for advancing Māori child health equity? We want to hear from you Your skills and expertise could make a real difference in improving health outcomes for mokopuna Māori and their whānau.

Our ground-breaking NEW cultural multidisciplinary team of clinicians **_(Ringa Atawhai)_**, will be dedicated to supporting mokopuna and whānau who are admitted to the Paediatric Intensive Care (PICU) at Starship. The nurse specialist will contribute to a wraparound service that ensure that mokopuna and whānau have the best possible experience and outcomes.

As part of the dynamic_ _**_Ringa Atawhai_**_ _team, you will also play a pivotal role in expanding the capacity and capability of our PICU workforce. There will be opportunities for formal and informal teaching and education alongside supporting the team with cultural leadership and expertise.

**Permanent role, FTE negotiable**
- Predominantly a Monday to Friday role with a need to be flexible to meet mokopuna and whānau needs
- Based at Starship Hospital, Grafton, Auckland
- This role reports to both TamaAriki Ora (Starship Māori Health) and PICU Nurse Unit Manager

**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The day-to-day mahi is a dynamic mix of working with mokopuna and whānau, raising the capability and capacity of PICU staff, and escalating systemic inequities.

Working amongst a team of dedicated Māori clinicians and Tangata Tiriti clinicians there will be ample opportunities for leadership and professional development. As a **_Ringa Atawhai_** **team member, you will become part of TamaAriki Ora (Starship Māori Health) and will enjoy the added benefits of whanaungatanga, training and being part of a movement to protect the integrity of whakapapa and uphold the divinity of our mokopuna.

- Ability to enact complex care delivery and coordination for mokopuna and whānau
- Committed to increasing the capability and capacity of PICU staff and teams
- Demonstrates critical analysis with on-going self-reflection and self-awareness
- Understands and supports the dismantling of policies, procedures and practices that cause inequity
- Can consistently communicate effectively with a multi-disciplinary team
