Global Property and Procurement delivers world-class procurement capabilities to Datacom, partnering with internal Datacom customers to ensure they receive maximum value for every dollar spent with Datacom suppliers. We accomplish this by executing effective strategic processes, including category management, supplier management, and sourcing projects. We add value by aligning Datacom with the best suppliers, promoting continuous improvement in supplier performance, and driving compliance with Datacom’s intellectual property and privacy requirements. About the role
As a Procurement Analyst, you will report to the Group Procurement Manager and play a crucial role in ensuring that Datacom's external supplier spend adheres to the principles of the Datacom Procurement Policy. Your primary responsibility will be to drive procurement value by leading the end-to-end procurement process within indirect procurement categories and tactical sourcing. By providing expert procurement support and advice, you will contribute to the successful sourcing and commercial negotiations that align with company policies.
Join our team as a Procurement Analyst and contribute to Datacom's procurement success while supporting the business in delivering optimal sourcing outcomes. As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our procurement processes and help achieve the company's strategic objectives.
This role can be based in Auckland or any Datacom office in New Zealand.
What you'll do
Responsibilities will include;
- Procurement Sourcing & Management:
- Manage the procurement process for indirect procurement categories including but not limit to the Travel and Entertainment category, Marketing, Facilities, People & Culture and professional services
- Identify and scope procurement requirements, and develop effective procurement strategies.
- Engage in contract development and negotiation to secure favourable terms and conditions.
- Manage the contract lifecycle to ensure compliance and optimize supplier relationships.
- Systems & Governance:
- Promote and monitor compliance
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Procurement function, exploring opportunities for automation to enhance efficiency.
- Act as a key point of contact for business inquiries related to procurement processes and policies.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, as well as collaborate with global counterparts to align with group strategy.
- Work closely with Executive Leadership and Group Procurement managers to achieve group targets.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in end-to-end procurement processes, with a focus on indirect procurement and tactical sourcing.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to drive value for the organization in supplier relationships.
- Sound knowledge of procurement policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Familiarity with procurement systems and tools, as well as experience with implementing process improvements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective stakeholder engagement at various levels.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify opportunities and implement solutions
