MidCentral DHB located in Palmerston North City could be the perfect place for you

MidCentral DHB provides an excellent grounding for Obstetrics and Gynaecology Registrars looking to grow and develop their skills. The hospital has a busy birthing suite with just under 2000 births a year within the DHB. During the last years we have improved our management of both spontaneous and induced labour with a multidisciplinary approach and a focus on the continuous auditing of outcomes. This has led to a decreased Caesarean Section rate.

In addition there are a range of gynaecological surgeries undertaken and opportunities for both Gynaecology and Obstetrics outpatient clinics.

The city of Palmerston North is a diverse and vibrant city, that is very livable and affordable. There is no sitting in traffic as a 5 - 15 minute commute is the norm. There is lots to do locally or with its central location it is easy to get away for the weekend to all the major attractions of Lower North Island - 2 hours from the vibrant capital of Wellington, the wineries of Hawkes Bay and the ski fields of Ruapehu.
