Hello there

Music Box Academy is looking for a energetic and bubbly vocal teacher to take some students on a casual contract basis for the first few weeks of February and maybe beyond. This could also turn into a permanent part time position depending on how things pan out over the term. You'd initially be covering for our main vocal tutor while she is away, and then there will be flexibility to retain some hours.

Beginning Monday 3rd Feb - Rate $35 per hour

Monday - 3.30 to 5.30pm

Tuesday - 3.30 to 5.30pm

Wednesday - 3.30 to 6.30pm

Thursday - 3.30 to 6.30pm

Total hours pw estimated - 10

Hours may and will change depending on student signups as the school term begins, but this is our rough estimate.

We're looking for someone with the following qualities:

- Confident vocalist - knowledgeable about _how_ _to sing as well as just being able to sing
- Bubbly and energetic personality - a real people person :)
- Great with kids - most of your students would be primary school age
- Excellent communicator - you'll need to be able to explain vocal technique in relatable terms for younger students
- Punctual and reliable - students are booked in at the same time every week so commitment is important
- Responsible for their own transport - don't need a car, but you need to be able to be there on time
- Being able to accompany yourself or student on another instrument to a basic level, is very beneficial (e.g. guitar or piano)
- Creative and caring - students will need worksheets / practice work to take home. If you present this in a fun and engaging way, they will be more motivated to learn and do it.
- Open mind and music taste - you will meet students from all backgrounds and ages, so being able to relate to them and understand their needs is crucial
- This role would suit a vocalist studying music or a recent grad looking for supplementary work. You don't need a degree or advanced musical knowledge, but confidence and communication will take you a long way.

Students are booked in at the same time each week, so you'd need to make sure you can commit to the hours above. You don't necessarily need to be able to make all the days listed, as we are open to hiring multiple tutors to cover.
