We seek an experienced technician to conduct and support molecular biology research within the School of Natural Sciences.
Applications are invited for the one year, fixed-term position of Research Technician - Molecular Biology. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person who will provide technical support for a research project in molecular biology on how chromatin disorganisation contributes to cellular ageing and neurodegeneration in Drosophila. This will include general molecular biology techniques, protein expression, mammalian cell culture, Drosophila genetics, immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy, as well as general laboratory assistance that includes the maintenance of human cell and Drosophila lines, and the preparation of reagents.
You will be required to provide proof of identity (birth certificate, passport or NZ driver's licence), and your status of eligibility to work in New Zealand.
