We are a friendly, inclusive group working to understand the epidemiology, evolution, and control of nationally and internationally important infectious diseases.
About the role
The purpose of this position is to support the research of the Percival Carmine Chair in Epidemiology and Public Health, and to contribute to a culture of research success and excellence within the Chair's team and school. Work hours may vary, but initial expectations will be 13 hours per week at 0.34 FTE. Days are flexible (Monday-Friday).

**Key duties**:

- Contribute to paper-writing for the Percival Carmine Chair in Epidemiology and Public Health
- Provide feedback on science paper drafts
- Review and draft research project budgets and reporting for Percival Carmine Chair in Epidemiology and Public Health as required
- Provide proof-reading and general review of text for media and popular article proofs for the Percival Carmine Chair in Epidemiology and Public Health
- Coordinate arrangements and pastoral care for visitors ensure all documentation is complete and in order
- Respond to enquiries from staff, students and visitors relating to the Percival Carmine Chair in Epidemiology and Public Health
- Provide schedule management and compose correspondence as well as general administrative/secretarial services for Percival Carmine Chair in Epidemiology and Public Health led committees and assigned projects
- Assist with organising Percival Carmine Chair in Epidemiology and Public Health led events e.g. workshops
- Coordinate all domestic and international travel and accommodation for the Percival Carmine Chair in Epidemiology and Public Health in conjunction with the College Administration team.

**About you**:

- A relevant tertiary degree or equivalent in biology, epidemiology or public health is desirable and graduate training desirable.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- An appreciation for confidentiality and data protection
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise and analyse various data sets
- A high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, and in particular, advanced knowledge of Word (preferred)
- Experience using software such as R is desirable but not essential
