**The Role**
We are now looking for an **External Communications Advisor** to join our Corporate Communications team in a permanent, full-time role based in Auckland. The purpose of this role is to promote and protect the IAG brand
- ensuring IAG is positioned as a strong and confident voice on issues that are important to IAG, its customers and stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Draft media releases, briefing documents, Q&As and other content as needed
- Develop and implement input into effective external communication and stakeholder engagement plans and initiatives
- Help identify story opportunities and develop content and campaigns which bring our purpose and strategy to life
- Build strong and trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Assist in coordinating IAG's NZ-wide media relations approach and ensure strong relationships with key media to enable fair reporting and strong positioning for IAG NZ, its businesses and executives.
- Ensure alignment between internal communications activities and broader corporate affairs activities.
- Ensure that all communications with customers, whether in writing, or verbally via telephone scripts, are appropriate and aligned to IAG NZ's purpose and strategy.
- Manage, monitor and report on media and reputation issues.
- Assist in responding to 24/7 media enquiries.
**Skills & Experience**:
With at least three years' experience in public relations or similar communications roles, you will bring to this role a level of integrity, confidence and gravitas which enables you to build strong levels of trust with your stakeholders both internally and externally. As well as this you will have:
- A demonstrated track record of excellent performance under pressure
- Excellent oral and written communication
- A good understanding of economic, social, and political trends
- Social media platform issues management and engagement
- Experience communicating and interpreting
