We have an exciting opportunity to join the New Zealand Debt Management (NZDM) team, based in Wellington. NZDM is one of the functions of the Capital Markets Directorate at the Treasury. The Risk Team is responsible for Capital Markets middle office and compliance function, ensuring the frameworks and tools are in place to support effective decisions within the constraints of the Crown's financial risk appetite.

Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role

As Senior Risk Analyst you will work alongside our high performing Wellington based team to:

- Develop and implement risk policies to ensure effective risk management and performance measurement.
- Continuously improve our financial risk modelling and valuation methodologies.
- Continuously improve our analysis and reporting framework to ensure all stakeholders receive accurate and timely information that supports effective and efficient decision making.
- Deliver operational excellence and support for the broader Capital Markets Directorate.

To be considered for this role, you will need to have a strong quantitative skillset and significant financial markets experience, alongside an ability to contribute to strategic risk management issues across the Capital Markets Directorate.

Ō pūmanawa | About You

You will be a self-starter, who is comfortable working independently, and has demonstrable experience making effective decisions in complex situations and under time pressure. You will have five or more years of demonstrated experience modelling and reporting on key balance sheet risk metrics such as market, credit, liquidity and funding risk.
