Senior Quality Assurance Technician

We are looking for a talented Quality Assurance Technician who will provide senior support of Heller's technical services (food safety, quality, legal, customer) and be actively involved in development and facilitation of training to ensure that staff understand the company food safety and quality objectives.
As our QA Technician you would be required to guide, influence and role model a quality assurance and food safety culture across our Kaiapoi site.
While reporting to our QA Manager, this role will have significant interaction with the Kaiapoi site team and other national functions such as NPD and Purchasing.
To be successful in this role, you will be computer literate with advanced excel and word skills and the ability to input and analyze data. You will be a champion communicator by having the ability to communicate in a constructive and influential manner, both written and verbal.
In addition to this, you will be required to:
- Have a minimum of 3 years experience in a quality role within the food industry
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field would be VERY highly regarded
- Strong practical knowledge of the food industry, food safety, microbiology, food technology and quality management systems
- Previous experience in both internal and external auditing including regulatory and customer standards would be highly regarded
- Ability to present report and analyses in a logical and technically robust manner
- Strong practical knowledge in internal and external auditing, analysis and report writing including in-depth risk assessments with an ability to present in a logical and technically robust manner
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with a wide range of people internally and externally e.g., regulatory bodies
- Ability to communicate with influence in a constructive manner, written and verbal to varying levels of the business
- Ability to coach and mentor others within the team and in the business as required
- High degree of initiative is required in problem solving, interpretation of results and the sourcing and interpretation of solutions
- Willingness and confidence to make decisions in regard to product disposition and respond to incidents or complaints as required
- Attention to detail and a structured and disciplined approach
- Resilient, pro-active and ambitious demonstrating drive, energy and focus
- The ability to remain composed under pressure
- Be willing to learn other QA related tasks as directed by the QA Manager
