The purpose of this role is
to work with local former refugee communities to promote health, prevent
disease and maintain wellness as well as work in partnership to assist and
support families and whānau towards self-reliance in health.
Public Health practitioners are
recognised by the Government (Ministry of Health) and the Public Health
Association as being integral in the interface between preschools, schools,
homes, social agencies, general practice, and other health care providers in
the wider community.
The full-time equivalent salary
range for this position is $59,834 - $83,186 based on the current NZNO Nursing
and Midwifery MECA, OR $59,035 - $85,992 based on the PSA Allied Public Health
and Technical MECA, dependent on skills, experience, and registration in NZ.

You are a NZ Registered Health
Professional with a current practising certificate ideally with community
experience and an awareness of refugee health needs.
You will be a great team player passionate about community delivery and the
health and wellbeing of our population. You will have outstanding interpersonal
skills, be highly motivated and have strong advocacy skills and a high degree
of accuracy and attention to detail. The ability to work autonomously
with complex families and be committed to the principles of the Treaty of
Waitangi and achieving equity are essential.
For the health and safety
of staff and patients you are required to provide proof that you have completed
your primary course of NZ approved Covid-19 vaccinations.
