Join Tāmaki Paenga Hira Auckland Museum as a Conservator in a pivotal full-time, fixed-term opportunity, offering a unique chance to contribute to the museum's future during an exciting time of change and renewal.

This role comes at an important time as we embark on implementing our ambitious 5-year strategic plan, focusing on innovation, engagement, and the diversification of our modes of engagement to our collections.

You will be stepping in to cover for a valued team member on a career break, playing an important role in the physical care and conservation of our collections across Human History, Natural Sciences, and Documentary Heritage. This position offers the chance to work within a bicultural workplace committed to excellence and kaitiakitanga, upholding the principles of He Korahi Māori and Teu Le Vā.

**Desired Skills and Experience**:
**Ō pūmanawa**| What you will bring**
- A tertiary qualification in the Conservation of Cultural Materials
- Member of NZCCM or internationally recognised Conservation affiliations
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in in museums or heritage institutions
- Experience treating a wide range of objects and materials
- Experience working with taonga Māori or culturally sensitive materials
- Proven ability to communicate conservation priorities effectively across teams and with external partners
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Familiarity with tikanga Māori and mātauranga Māori principles is an advantage
