**The Role**:
As a Claims Consultant your purpose is to be the first point of contact for our customers when they need to make a motor vehicle claim. This could be anything from a chip on their windscreen, car crash, or even a dent from the annoying stray trolley in the supermarket.

You will need unlimited Broadband and be within one hour's drive from our locations in Auckland Albany & Sylvia Park, Palmerston North, Wellington, and Christchurch.

**Hours and Training**

Hours and rosters can be tailored to fit around your study commitments and with the option to increase earning potential during holidays.

The hours are flexible working a minimum of 20 hours per week, rostered anywhere between 8am - 6:30pm on weekdays, and you must be available to work at least one weekend shift between 9am - 6pm, either and 8.5 or 7.5-hour shift.

You will undergo 5 weeks full-time training starting Monday to Friday 8.30am-4.30pm. The training will be delivered in a virtual classroom or onsite and supported by our Training Managers. Training is from 22 November - 23 December and you will be required to be available during this period.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lodge and proactively manage claims on behalf of IAG customers
- Liaising with and maintaining our long-term Internal and external supplier relationships
- Provide world class customer experiences that create advocates for our business
- Identify priority claims, complex claims and claims from vulnerable customers
- Develop and maintain claims handling, system and policy wording knowledge, including any risk and compliance issues

**Skills and Experience**:

- Empathy - Ability to relate to and adapt your approach to your customers in a caring and professional way
- Customer service experience - if you 've worked in hospitality, retail or call centre environments
- Effective communication skills - active listening, verbal and written
- Confident computer skills
- comfortable navigating multiple systems simultaneously
