**Mō te tūnga | About the role**
This is a unique role within our team at Te Rau Kawakawa-Buller Integrated Health Service to work with the healthcare teams as the phlebotomist.
In this role you will be largely autonomous and will be responsible for your high quality of work, as well you will have oversight of the various equipment relevant to your role and you will need to troubleshoot as needed. Since you are the site phlebotomist flexibility is key as you will need to work across various team and areas.
**In this role, you will be responsible for**:
- Providing a high-quality service to clients
- Collecting blood samples from inpatients and outpatients within the service
- Carrying out processes required for the pre-analytical processing of samples
- Interpretation and input of request forms
- Checking of data for accuracy and information
- Liaising with staff, patients and referrers effectively
- Maintaining knowledge and on-going education in Phlebotomy
- Additional duties as required to support the team.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Bring proactive and taking initiative
- The ability to pick up and use technology and software systems
- Registration with the Medical Sciences Council is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided.
