**About the role**
This is a senior level role reporting directly to the GM Operations and Supply Chain. As the Operations Site Manager you will provide strategic and operational leadership to the Mt Maunganui site - the company’s largest production facility.
- Specifically, your responsibilities include:_
- Production management of a high volume 24/7 processing facility producing superphosphate - the most common fertiliser used in New Zealand farming.
- Providing positive and professional leadership to your team of 75 staff including 6 direct reports. Your focus is on engagement and empowerment, building team capability through the attraction, retention and development of talented people operating in a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Commercial management - driving the process to ensure that business plans and budgets are developed, approved, managed, reviewed and reported upon.
- Foster a no compromise approach to Environmental, Health & Safety, promoting a culture where safety is a priority for everyone while also ensuring all relevant regulatory and compliance requirements are met.
- This role is also externally focused, where you will develop and maintain effective industry and community networks.
**Skills & Attributes**
- You have outstanding people skills; you are a talented mentor, coach, negotiator, resolver of conflict, enabler.
- You’re grounded in management and ideally have experience working in larger organisations where operational best practice has been a way of life.
- Your background is from within heavy industry plant, process and/or production systems.
- Your experience in implementing Industry 4.0, automation and modern technology solutions for continuous improvement in maintenance and plant operation would be highly valued.
- You are able to see the bigger picture, communicate the company vision and achieve buy-in from all parties.
- You bring a hands-on approach, operational insight, analytical ability and the courage to challenge the status quo.
- You have a depth of knowledge and experience in Continuous Improvement and change management.
- You ideally hold a relevant tertiary qualification: Engineering, Technology, Business.
