**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

Auckland Transport's Spatial Planning Policy Advice team is responsible for providing high-quality spatial planning and policy advice to the Auckland Council Group and Central Government partners to help shape planning and policy decisions. Our goal is to enable better land use and transport integration, and ensure that planning and policy decisions protect and provide for the current and future transport network.

We are looking for a Senior Planner to join our team, to ensure that Auckland Transport's interests are appropriately represented in planning and policy processes by working closely with our partners.

**Key tasks will include**:

- Reviewing Central and Local Government plans and policy, identifying issues relevant to Auckland Transport, and developing proposed solutions.
- Providing advice to decision makers to create informed outcomes, and preparing submissions where required.
- Working collaboratively and building influence of the team and our outputs.

**Ko koe tēnei | About you**
- Minimum five years' experience in land use or transport planning
- Able to work effectively and proactively in advancing Auckland Transport's position during statutory planning and policy processes
- Understanding and knowledge of transport planning and funding, urban planning policies, local government processes, and legislative requirements
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills coupled with excellent written and oral communication skills - particularly to inform decision makers
- Strong interpersonal skills, driving results, and building connections with internal and external stakeholders
