Masterton, New Zealand Higgins Full time

Opportunity for a site based Health and Safety Advisor to join the Higgins Team on a fixed term contract. You will be working on an exciting new project that is soon to kick off. The SH2 Masterton to Carterton is a Waka Kotahi safety improvement project involving the installation of new roundabouts and 10KM of road widening. Valued at 20M+ this is an excellent opportunity to be involved from the outset through to project completion.

This is a fixed term contract of up to 15 months, part-time 20-30 hours per week. You will be project based in Masterton, reporting to the Higgins Napier Branch. Project accommodation can be provided, if required.

**Role Responsibilities**:

- Work closely with supervisors and team leaders to ensure they are supported in all aspects of their EHS obligations.
- Provides high quality and accurate EHS advice
- Organise the required training for the site workforce or provide training is required
- Assess paperwork to verify that systems are being correctly applied at site. Examples include: EHS Plans, Risk Registers, SOP’s, JSA’s and vehicle checklists / log books
- Provides practical advice on hazard identification & reporting.
- Maintains accurate records and daily diaries. Ensure Data integrity and storage is maintained.

**What you’ll bring to the role**:

- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent
- Driving Licence (current, full and clean)
- Knowledge of the NZ legislative environment including HSE, ACC and HSNO and industry guidelines and standards
- Thorough knowledge of work related illnesses and injuries, and rehabilitation processes.
- Strong communication skills with a coaching, influencing emphasis
- The ability to build credibility and trust in the business
