The Design Director is responsible for the overall feel of a game. Their focus is to ensure outstanding quality through innovative gameplay, artwork, music, and audio.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

- Define and drive the overall look and visual integrity of the game and all supporting assets. Oversee the game vision to ensure the entire project tracks to consistently stunning artistic vision
- Collaborate with the Game Director to create vision that is innovative, strong, appropriate, fitting with IP, and implementable by the team
- Work with the Game Director and upper management team to provide planning window on workload for short or long-term planning
- Coordinate with the Design team and producer to help define scope, schedule design tasks and meet milestone timelines
- Follow through and ensure that the project vision is reflected in all stages of design and implementation of game mechanics, systems, controls and the player experience
- Inspire and energize the team, utilizing pillars, research, and references to lead them towards creative success
- Guide and support the game design team, defining the methods and strategies appropriate to the project and championing them
- Demonstrate pragmatism, weighing the ‘perfect vision’ against the realities of development and seeing your project through to completion
- Collaborate with other teams and harmonizing design throughout the company

Skills and Experience Required:

- Bachelors in computer science, software engineering, industrial design, game design or equivalent
- Minimum 5+ years experience in video game design and production
- Must have shipped 1 or more AAA console game(s)
- Working knowledge of JIRA
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to lead and mentor a team
- Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills
- Results focus and ability to work effectively under pressure
