**About the Role**

This role is a permanent full-time role working **32 hours per week, 4 days per week, worked between the hours** of 9:00am to 5:30pm**, with the occasional weekend day coverage when needed (approx. once a month). Leading a team of 2 activities staff, you will identify the leisure activities of each resident based on their interests’ preferences and abilities and coordinate an activities programme based on their needs. You will have a big impact on the quality of life for our residents by promoting social interaction, physical activity, and mental stimulation for our residents.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Manage activity plans for residents across this 100-bed care home, with rest home and hospital levels of care.
- Plan, develop, and lead individualised activity plans for each resident based on the activity assessment outcome, their interests, and preferences.
- Ensure our valuable residents are treated with full respect, dignity, and cultural sensitivity.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to Bupa Health & Safety policies.
- Maintain personal and professional development - we have on-site managers who always encourage our staff to up-skill

**Skills and Qualification**

To be successful in this role, you will enjoy a variety of work and have prior experience in this field, along with an interest in and understanding of the elderly and their needs.
- You’ll have a NZQA (or equivalent) Diversional Therapy (level 4) Certificate (or working towards a DT qualification)
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar healthcare setting is preferable.
- Be able to demonstrate leadership skills with the ability to motivate others.
- Have a creative flair to contribute towards a full and varied activities programme and help look after our residents while creating a caring atmosphere.
- You are a caring, team player, vibrant, and energetic, with an active interest in organising activities for multiple levels of function and ability.
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- You will be required to drive the van for outings so a clean, full driver’s license is essential.
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in NZ.
