Operations Supervisor

**About the role**
Reporting to the Branch Manager, the position is a senior role and as 2IC is responsible for the branch in their absence. This is a permanent full-time role, paid a minimum of 40 hours per week. Ensuring we provide excellent customer service and leading by example in all areas of branch operation, while focusing on continual improvement as outlined by the relevant KPI's. This role will lead people and safety solutions and support the Branch Manager to achieve operational excellence.
**You will be responsible for**:
- Actively lead the yard, drive-thru and showroom team leaders with clear direction and instructions and provide active coaching to improve their performance.
- Proactively assists customers with their needs, utilising all channels available
- Develop and lead service excellence initiatives for your teams
- Ensure stock levels are sufficient, and that effective stock purchasing decisions are being made
- Proactively review the layout and product placement in the Yard and Drive Thru and Showroom to ensure products are of the best quality, displayed in the right range and sold at the right price, and make improvement recommendations to the Branch Manager
- Actively demonstrate safe work processes and behaviours and ensure these are followed by all employees and contractors in their place of work by living our PROTECT value
**About You**:
- Your positive, hands-on attitude, fantastic organisation skills and awesome work ethic is essential. You will be a great communicator, enjoy building a good rapport with both your team and our customers alike and be comfortable with flexibility, using your own initiative and taking the lead.
**Alongside this, you will also be able to demonstrate the following**:
- Pervious people leadership experience is a must, proven experience in leading/managing a team
- Building industry, warehousing, retail, or consumer showroom environment is a nice to have
- Ability to problem solve and proactively find solutions for team and customers
- Have excellent attention to detail and time management skills
- A Full NZ driving licence is a must....and a forklift licence would be a bonus
- A team-focused attitude - we all pull together to ensure the success of the whole branch
