Seeking research scientist to join a collaborative group of industry leaders

Join a team where you feel confident your research is contributing to improving building standards across the country. Working with a team of passionate scientists you will conduct critical research to contribute to the understanding of optimal building practices that ensure, warm, dry and energy efficient homes around NZ.

Findings from studies will contribute to the ongoing improvement of living standards, and will play a critical part in improving the health and wellbeing of all.

In this role you will:

- Contribute to the research for ensuring 'Healthy Homes' for all New Zealanders
- Work in the key areas of moisture-related issues, ventilation, airtightness, IAQ/IEQ, quality of buildings, insulation and energy efficiency.
- Collaborate with other research organizations in these areas
- Generate research proposals - lead and manage projects
- Gain an in depth understanding of the New Zealand building code and contribute to its evolution
- Provide critical evidence to support legislative change that will make homes warmer, drier and more energy efficient.

To be successful you will need:

- A tertiary qualification (preferably post graduate, in physics, building, engineering or a relevant field)
- A basic understanding of the NZ building code is an advantage
- Experience in hygrothermal / moisture modelling software is an advantage
- A proven background in leading research and generating meaningful results
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non technical audiences.
