- Support the development of events and activities to accompany the Kaupapa of He Tohu Working at the Department of Internal Affairs, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of New Zealanders. The Public Engagement Team, National Library sits within the Enterprise Services Branch, the Department's epicentre of information management, culture and heritage. Our branch is all about collecting, storing and preserving important things that are precious to New Zealand. The Learning Facilitator is part of a team that develops and delivers innovative and inclusive learning experiences, events and programmes in relation to the work and collections of the National Library and He Tohu. The role provides ample opportunities for creativity in the design of experiences and learning for schools and the public.He kōrero mōu: About you You will have:

- Demonstrable experience working with schools and education providers to deliver informal or curriculum-based learning programmes,
- Experience or affiliation within a Kura Kaupapa environment;
- Experience with and interest in working with young people and the general public;
- A genuine interest in researching and innovating engaging programmes in response to diverse groups and in relation to changing exhibitions and activities in the Library;
- Sound knowledge and experience of implementing learning programmes;
- An understanding of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and biculturalism as they relate to the National Library and its programmes
- Confident in the use of Tikanga and Te Reo Māori or the ability and willingness to learn

Today these currently include the National Library, Archives New Zealand, Ministerial Services, and the Gambling Commission. Each 'enterprise' has its own unique kaupapa, and through its 'partnership' with Te Tari Taiwhenua, will be supported to achieve their goals. The nature of each partnership will depend on the goals and needs of the entity.
