Dementia Caregiver

Brooklands Care Group is looking to an experienced Dementia Caregiver. We are an innovative facility where our philosophy is to promotoe individualisation for our residents. We are a small home with a big heart.
We have created a homely therapeutice environment that promotes independence for residents and helps to ensure they feel valued. Staff have an unobtrusive style of care to encourage resident's sense of independence. This has also helped to reduce challenging behaviours.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Accompany and support patients with daily activities
- Assist patients with their mobility
- Prepare and delivery food and / or assist with feeding
- Support wellbeing and assisting with personal care of patients
- Observing and reporting changes in patients condition
- Follows the directions for resident's care in the resident care plan / lifestyle plan
- Assisting with delivering medications
- Other duties as required
**Experience / qualifications required**
- Minimum 1 year proven experience as Dementia Caregiver
- Good communication, interpersoanl and problem solving skills
- A genuine love for helping people, excellent customer service skills, with a friendly and positive attitude
- A passion for continuous improvement with a sound knowledge of the importance of health and safety procedures
**Employment details**
- Permanent employment
- Minimum of 30 hours per week working Monday to Sunday
- Shift tiimes are AM 7.00am to 3.00pm, PM 3.00pm to 11.00pm, NIght 11.00pm to 7.00am
- At least $26.16 to $28.25 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
- Located in Brooklands, New Plymouth
