Are you passionate about inclusive education and making a real difference for students?
In this role, you will:
- Coordinate and enhance learning support for students with diverse needs
- Work closely with teachers, whānau, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students
- Provide a key contact for whānau of tamariki with learning support needs, helping them to partner successfully with our kura
- Provide expertise in PB4L, structured literacy, inclusive practices, student wellbeing, and neurodiversity
- Champion a collaborative and responsive approach to learning support
As a member of our Learning Support team you:
- Will bring skills, knowledge, caring and values to the role of the team.
- Help identify, understand and plan for the needs of these learners in our local community.
- Will coordinate services and support, ensuring that there are robust, carefully monitored and appropriately resourced plans in place for learners who need extra support.
The successful applicant will have:
- demonstrated successful experience in working with young people with learning support needs in the classroom
- A sound knowledge, commitment to, and understanding of the learning support system and the Learning Support Action Plan priorities
- An understanding of te ao Māori and a commitment to upholding the principles of te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Met professional standards relevant to their current position.
- An understanding of the secondary context and the needs of learners who are entitled to Special Assessment Conditions for NCEA assessments will also be important.
- For overseas teachers looking to relocate to New Zealand to teach, the terms and conditions including base salary for this position is set by the relevant collective agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $59,305 to $95,400 depending on applicants qualifications and experience. Individuals actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed._
