About the role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi
We are looking for dynamic and outgoing Community Liaisons to work with us on a casual basis in Te Tai Tokerau area.
Your purpose is to promote electoral enrolment and voter turnout.
You will achieve this by working within the local community to inform, engage and educate New Zealanders about the value of participation.
You will be given full training and provided the resources required to be successful in the role.

You will be motivated to reach vast numbers of people, and you will be driven by the importance of our purpose/kaupapa.
You will be excited by the fact that no two days will ever be the same. You will be out in the community at schools, universities, marae, events, libraries, shopping centres and town centres, engaging with people and promoting electoral participation.
What you'll be doing | He aha tāu e mahi ana
- Presentations to a wide range of audiences
- Manning stands at events to answer questions about enrolment and voting.
- Encouraging and assisting people to enroll on the electoral roll.
- Travelling may be required to attend events and presentations.
- Attending training and meetings either online or face to face
- Reporting on your activities
What you'll need to succeed | Ko ngā mea ka hiahiatia e koe kia angitū
- Ability to read an audience and engage with a wide range of people
- Ability to build knowledge of community and required networks
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective internal and external working relationships
- Ability to effectively and confidently communicate with a range of individuals as well as large groups, through conversation, presentations, activities and other interactive means.
- Ability to work independently yet under set direction
- Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines while remaining composed and demonstrates a positive attitude at all times
- Established involvement and/or networks within the local communities preferred.
