Working as a lifeguard is an opportunity for you to make a real difference in the community. Lifeguards are the key to ensuring a safe environment for our customers and are essential to the successful running of our aquatic facilities.

Pool lifeguards are observant, patient, and good with people. Their skill set means they have the confidence to act in a quick, responsible, and calm way.

As a Lifeguard you are responsible for:

- Provide a safe environment through proactive supervision and positive interaction with customers
- Educate and enforce pool rules
- Respond to any First Aid emergencies
- Ensure pool and surrounds are clean at all times

As such, we will provide **ALL** training for you free of charge and pay you to attend the training too.

This is a Permanent Part-time position, working:
Saturday 10:00 am - 5:30 pm
Monday: 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm

**He kōrero mōu: About you**

We are looking for people of all ages that are strong swimmers, dedicated to helping others and can commit to full-time work.
- Swim 200m in less than 6 minutes (Any stroke, or a mixture of strokes, can be used)
- Swim 50m breaststroke
- Swim 25m sidestroke
- Duck, dive and retrieve objects from the bottom of the pool (up to 5m depth)
- Tread water for 5 minutes

**You must be available for the Lifeguard training from **dates: February 26th -March 8th OR 15th - 26th of April at** West Wave.**

We aim to upskill and progress your career, so you can train and take on other functions within our centres, such as Recreation Assistant, Fitness Instructor and more.

By the same token, if we occasionally need some help in other areas such as at our front desk and general customer service duties, as a team member, you may be called on to cover these areas if short staffed or at peak periods.

**Pay rate: $26 /hr**
