**He angitūtanga: The opportunity**

Team Member, Lifeguard

Our pool and leisure facilities are more popular than ever, and as a Lifeguard you will play a key part in ensuring that all customers have an enjoyable but safe experience.

Your main responsibilities will include:

- Providing to all pool users with quality supervision to ensure health and safety standards are upheld.
- Providing customers and colleagues with accurate information on pool policies, Centre facilities, and aquatic safety; and
- Supporting the delivery of Centre programmes and classes.

**He kōrero mōu: About you**

You’ll already have a love for aquatics and be committed to supporting community safety and wellbeing.

Previous experience as a Lifeguard is advantageous, but if you’re a confident swimmer looking to upskill, we can support you with training.

Having clear and effective communication skills is key, as is being practically minded and using your initiative where required.

Ideally, you hold a current First Aid Certificate as well as a current Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate, however, we can also support you with training to help you obtain these.

The centre operates 7 days a week, so reliability and commitment to working early, late and weekend shifts are crucial.

We aim to upskill and progress your career, so if you wish to train and take on other functions within our centres such as Learn to Swim Instructor, Fitness Instructor or Recreation Assistant the opportunity is there By the same token, if we occasionally need some help in other areas such as on our front desk and general customer service duties, as a team member, you may be called on to cover these areas if short staffed or at peak periods.

You can also follow a career path and progress into Lead and Team Leader positions both in part time and full-time positions.

Current locations available:
**Glenfield - 16 hours per week**

Monday and Friday alternating 5:30-1:30/1:30-10pm shifts.

Require availability Monday 5-1:30pm/1:30-10 alternating shift, and a Friday 5-1:30pm/1:30-10pm alternating shift.

**Birkenhead**
10 hours per week (require 4 people) shifts to be discussed at interview

**Stanmore Bay**

12 hours per week Shifts 5pm-9pm Tue, Wed, Thur

**Albany**

X2 positions available.

8 hours shift is Sundays 9am - 530pm

11 hours shift is Sundays 830am - 5pm and Wednesdays 4pm - 7pm
