Commercial Services Lead

**Te Whiwhinga mahi - The Opportunity** We're looking for a Commercial Services Lead to join our Commercial Services Capital Infrastructure team. This permanent role offers the chance to contribute to AT's strategic goals and make a meaningful difference in how Auckland moves. This role supports our infrastructure procurement initiatives and works with project teams on all commercial aspects of project development and delivery. In doing so you will quickly earn a reputation as a "trusted advisor". The Commercial lead will be responsible for managing all commercial and financial aspects of the project, including key procurements, change management, forecasting, and cost control. This role ensures the development and management of commercial agreements with suppliers, third parties and oversees project financials. **Key Tasks will include**: - Providing commercial support across capital projects and programmes. This might include reviewing commercial, financial, and contractual implications and requirements of specific projects areas and supporting Project Directors with the overarching strategy to progress the project or specific project activities. - Supporting project investment case, business case and value for money assessment activities and initiatives on projects. - Leading and directing commercial and contractual negotiations with project counter-parties and suppliers particularly in contracting / tendering aspects and NZS 391X and relevant consultancy agreements. Focusing on commercial areas including liability, insurances, securities packages, payment, pricing, KPI and KRA establishment, approach to infrastructure delivery and contracting models. - Owning the project financial management for key workstreams, including analysis of financial performance, predictive forecast and trend analysis. - Supporting the identification, evaluation and implementation of new funding and/or operating model opportunities for major projects you are working on. - Working with Project Teams guiding them in the development, implementation and management of procurement and commercial strategies. **Ko koe tēnei | About you** As a seasoned professional, you'll bring experience working in large-scale, performance-driven project environments. You'll also bring: - A tertiary degree qualification is required in commerce, law, financial management or related discipline. - Professional membership in appropriate industry association(s) - Programme, commercial and project management qualifications - 10 + years' experience in a commercial and financial management role - Experience of business case development, preferably in the infrastructure sector - Previous procurement and project management experience - An understanding and appreciation of the workings and functions of local government **Ko mātou tēnei | Our Organisation** At Auckland Transport, people are at the heart of everything we do.
