At Te Whatu Ora Te Pae Houora o Ruahine o Tararua | MidCentral, we recognise our obligations under the Family Violence Act 2018 and the Oranga Tamariki Act 1989 to share information, to respond to, and protect tamariki from child abuse and family violence. To strengthen our focus on Child Protection we are now recruiting within the Family Protection Team.

We are looking for a highly motivated, focused person who is an excellent communicator with a **passion for working with people, communities, and multiple agencies** to fill the permanent role:

- Child Protection Coordinator 0.9 FTE (negotiable)

The **Child Protection Coordinator role entails**:

- Ensuring the ongoing development and implementation of the Family Violence Intervention Programme (FVIP) focused on identification, assessment and referral of child and partner abuse in health services in Te Whatu Ora MidCentral in accordance with the Ministry of Health (MoH) Family Violence Intervention Guidelines.
- Coordinating health and education (Gateway) assessments for children and young people who come into the care of Oranga Tamariki or whom are under Family Group Conference to assist in improving health outcomes for the children and young people.

This role supports the implementation of the Ministry of Health Family Violence Intervention Programme and the Gateway Assessment service, with the view to strengthen Child Protection support within Te Whatu Ora MidCentral, leading to a reduction in Family Violence and Child Abuse across the rohe.
