Evolving the lottery grants system Community Matters
Te Puna Tahua, the Lottery Grants Board (Board) distributes circa $1.2 Billion every four years to fund community hapu and iwi projects. Any group or hapori/community, hapu or iwi will tell you how important this is, and the difference it can make for them.
The Board is working to understand the impact that funding can deliver through their three outcomes of Social Cohesion, Community Wellbeing and Tino Rangatiratanga with hapori, Hapu, Iwi. The Board are also committed to fulfilling the promise of Te Tiriti o Waitangi as stated in their recently established Te Tiriti o Waitangi position statement.
We're looking for a Senior Advisor Outcomes - Māori to join us and work within a team led by a Practice Lead Outcomes. It's a vital role as the Board is evolving to an Outcomes approach that is Strategy led, Data driven and learns to better manage Lottery Grant funding.
This role would suit an experienced Senior Advisor who has operated within an Outcomes environment or similar, looking to take their next step and operate at a whole of system level.'
**We're looking for someone to**:
- Bring a strong understanding of Kaupapa Māori research, evaluation, and outcomes to provide thought leadership and advice for Senior Leaders.
- Work with Senior Managers and lead key pieces of work on ensuring Te Ao Māori is central to design of strategy, and outcomes.
- Bring a sound understanding of the systems and processes that underpin the operations of the public-sector environment, including Ministerial processes, accountability, and reporting.
- Use effective communication skills (written and oral) and the ability to communicate with credibility and convey information to a range of audiences
- Bring a strong ability to plan, prioritise and reprioritise own work and understand connections across team and organisation
- Foster whanaungatanga, build rapport and credibility with internal stakeholders and maintain strong relationships.
- Provide support to the wider branch on key pieces of work delivering outcomes for Māori.
**Support the Practice Lead to**:
- Create and deliver multi-year outcome-based strategies embedding te ao Māori - Māori worldview.
- Engage a range of stakeholders from Board through to community, hapū, iwi in developing and accessing Kaupapa Māori outcome approaches and models.
- Analyse and present options based on data and evaluation results
- Develop strategic options and leading decisioning panels focusing on Outcomes, priorities and trade-offs'
- Manage a programme of activity
- Manaaki and tautoko the members of Te Puna Tahua
Knowledge of te ao Māori and how best to tailor approaches for understanding aspirations of hapori is essential.
The successful kaimahi will report to the Practice Lead Outcomes in the Te Waka Aukaha Business group but be dedicated to Hāpai Hapori. That way you will be at the heart of the action and have the support of the wider Planning Governance and Support team.
