**The Central Interceptor is a wastewater tunnel that will run between the Mangere Wastewater Treatment Plant and Grey Lynn. The 14.7-kilometre-long tunnel will run between 15 and 110 metres below ground. It will cross the Manukau Harbour at about 15 metres under the seabed. Along the route, it will connect to the existing wastewater network, which will divert flows and overflows into the tunnel.**

**What you will be doing**:
Reporting to one of our Surveyor’s you will assist with activities, such as setting up instruments and equipment, laying out stakes/markers, holding measuring prism poles vertical and placing survey marks. This is an ideal role for someone who has recently gained their Surveying qualifications or has construction site experience.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Some of the things you may get involved with but may not be limited to the following.
- Assisting with day-to-day surveying activities for civil construction and underground sites
- Conduct daily vehicle checks, and ensure survey equipment is available and in good condition
- Set up equipment and instruments on site Hammering and drilling for the placement of stakes/markers
- Ensure the site is always in a safe and tidy condition and wastage is minimised
- Check those duties are completed efficiently to meet or exceed requirements
- Keeping the Surveyor informed of any survey challenges
- 1-2 years of construction labouring experience
- Certificate in Surveying (L4) ideal but not essential
- Legible handwriting and ability to work with numbers
- A positive and pro-active approach toward teamwork
- Excellent communication skills and ‘can do’ attitude
- Safety awareness
- Ability to work under pressure, determine priorities and follow instructions Construct Safe Level 1 is ideal but not essential - we will provide this training

All successful applicants will be required to undertake a Ministry of Justice and pre-employment drug and medical checks.
