**Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position)**
This post offers hands on clinical training with good exposure to gynaecological surgery, 12 months in Nelson with easy access to three National Parks, beaches, lakes, mountains, vineyards and skiing.
We have a permanent, full time position (80 hours per fortnight) for a Senior Registrar to join our Obstetric and Gynaecological team. Nelson Hospital is a secondary level hospital. Our neonatal unit takes babies from 32 weeks. There are excellent links to Christchurch Gynaecological Oncology and Wellington MFM services. We have five Consultants, two House Officers (one studying for the Diploma in Obstetrics), and Trainee Interns from Christchurch are attached to the unit for four to six weeks at a time. There are regular Perinatal and Maternal Mortality meetings, Colposcopy MDMs, Radiology MDMs, and local PROMPT courses.
Teaching duties will include SHO for Diploma in Obstetrics, Trainee Interns, Midwives, and of course the Consultants
Working hours are 8.00am to 5.00pm daily with on-call for overnight during the week and weekends. On call duties include one 14 hour period of after-hours call, and one 10 hour period of in-hours call per week. Weekend cover (48 hours) is one in five. All on-call is part of the Consultant roster, with backup Consultant cover.

Applicants should be post-Membership, and be working as an advanced trainee.
All applicants must hold valid registration or be eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ).
