MTD Trucks are the sole New Zealand Importer and Distributor for Mack Trucks & Volvo Trucks & Buses. We have been a leader in heavy transport solutions, based in Palmerston North since 1968. The products we sell drive progress in the New Zealand economy and power the success and profitability of trucking operators across the country.

We create **bespoke and unique customer solutions by adapting our trucks** to suit the specific needs of our customers. We undertake a range of engineering modifications at our Modification Centre in Palmerston North. Due to continued growth, we require the services of an experienced engineer to support this demand for a **6-month fixed term period.**

**What you will be doing**:
Your main function will be to **prepare new trucks for the end user**. Your work with us will be wide and varied; from inspection of new trucks on arrival from factory, to adding axles, altering wheelbases, adding accessory kits, light engineering and operating lifting equipment.

**Who we are looking for**:

- ** Have a valid forklift driving licence (training available)**:

- ** Have a heavy truck licence (minimum class 2 full licence required)**:

- Welding experience
- Demonstrate an understanding of distribution centre functions
- Are physically fit as heavy lifting is required
- Are computer literate
- Demonstrate exceptional teamwork skills
- Able to follow written work orders and drawings
- Show a positive can-do attitude
- Focus on safety and well-being for yourself and those around you.
- Are detail focused with a 100% commitment to quality in all that they undertake.
