**About the team**

**About the opportunity**

The Technical Director - Large Program Delivery is accountable for the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) outcome of large transformative programmes of work and drives the development/implementation of scalable and secure systems, solutions, and infrastructure. These programmes of work are strategic and complex and generally impact more than one business unit. These programmes typically involve the delivery of integrated Application solutions with investments of over $20M.

The Technical Director, as part of the Applications Services leadership team, also contributes to the development and maintenance of the Application Services Strategy, with a focus on maintaining and building the capabilities of the Solution Architect, Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, and Operations Analyst practices through a combined consideration of people skills and behaviours, processes, and tools, plus technology plans to deliver the outcomes of the business.

**What will you bring?**

Your CV and cover letter will demonstrate a relevant degree or tertiary qualification and:

- Ability to translate business objectives into effective technology strategies.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing technology teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data and insights for informed decision-making.
- Commercial acumen, including experience negotiating contracts and managing outsourced vendors.
- Demonstrated financial acumen through budgeting and managing cost centre allocations and planning.
- Evidence of providing thought leadership and contributions to business projects and technology initiatives.

Experience in the power/utilities sector would be advantages as would:

- A master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as ITIL, AWS/Azure, and/or TOGAF.
- Deep experience in Agile and DevOps methodologies for software development/delivery.
