Paragon Services Ltd is contracting under Chorus Service Providers for Telecommunications Installation and Networking Services. We have multiple roles available across Waikato Region.

We provide key solutions for all aspects of the ultra-fast broadband and NGA Project and are seeking outstanding people to join our team.

Location may vary according to busy sites but will be in the greater Wellington/Kapiti Coast region.

Job Description
- Fibre Splicing, Fibre Blowing, Fibre hauling, Phone, TV & Internet connections, Civils & MDU/ROW builds for both residential and commercial sites.

Plan, design, and troubleshoot local and wide area network infrastructure, including Wireless Routers, Copper phone lines and Fibre networks.

Tests and certifies Fibre optic cables using specialized equipment (Splicer, OTDR Testers, and Fibre Tracers).

Installing Internal and external Fibre cabling for residential and Commercial Premises utilizing both underground and aerial methodologies.

Setting up the modems, wireless networks, VOIP and TV services.

Providing ongoing operational support for troubleshooting, optimizing telecommunication network performance at all terminals including FAT, ABFFP, Network Cabinet, and Customers’ end.

Installing Fibre wiring as required, including cable runs through buildings and ceilings.

Capable of using hand and power tools.

Civil work (Concrete cutting, Hand trenching both inside and outside boundary as well as Permanent concrete & asphalt reinstatements).

Integrating and Configuring Telecommunication Devices and tools.

Connects Fibre optic cables to networking outlets and between network outlets.

It is preferred to have the following to be considered for the role:
ROW/MDU & SDU Fibre build and connect experience.

A current first aid certificate.

A current Traffic Control TC1

WTCs 1 and 3 (Work training competencies) certificates.

Must have Class 1 drivers license.

Skills and Qualification Requirements:
Qualification in IT Networking or Telecommunications. Certified Fibre Optic Technician certification.

Good understanding of the NZ Telco network, including Fibre technology and familiar with basic telecommunication color codes.

Basic computer literacy - e.g. use of tablets, laptops and android phones.

Good communication and Customer service skills.

Able to work unsupervised and within a team.

Be Fit and Healthy.

Be comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.

Strong computer literacy.

A strong commitment to workplace safety.

The desire to learn Technical and operational aspects of the job.

Able to work with NZ weather conditions.

Honest, reliable and punctual.

Clean Police Record.

Ability to travel when required, be willing to work 5 days a week and occasional overtime.

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.

**Salary**: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
