**Job Summary:**

We are seeking an Emergency Specialist to work in our Taupo Hospital on a casual basis. As a member of our small, competent, and supportive team, you will provide 24/7 medical cover to a population of approximately 41,000. You will also have the support of other medical staff, including nurses, medical students, and junior resident doctors.


**Key Responsibilities:**

You will use your varied and broad generalist knowledge and experience to diagnose and treat patients in the ED, through to discharge or stabilize and transfer patients to secondary or tertiary hospitals when required. To be successful in this role, you will be within 3 months of obtaining your Emergency Medicine qualification and/or hold/be eligible for Specialist Vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
