Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Permissions Treaty Advisor to join our team. As a Senior Permissions Treaty Advisor, you will provide advice to Permissions Advisors and decision-makers to ensure we are giving effect to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.

You will contribute to the development of operational policy and best practices in relation to the Treaty of Waitangi, as well as identifying training needs and working towards a consistent national approach to train and mentor staff.

The work is varied, with each application being very different from the next. You will receive applications from a wide range of individuals and business owners who have an interest in using DOC land or interacting with protected wildlife.

This role requires experience working with planning and/or legislative processes, relevant conservation legislation, and analyzing large amounts of complex information to produce high-quality reports and succinct recommendations.
