About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Geologist to join our team in Tauranga or Hamilton.

As a Geologist, you will be responsible for providing technical input to projects, preparing reports, and coordinating site-based investigations.

You will work closely with the design team to deliver high-quality projects for our clients and contribute to the growth and development of the company.

The Key Responsibilities
  • Provide general engineering geology input to projects, including site investigation coordination and supervision, data analysis, and geological modeling.
  • Prepare and write technical reports to communicate complex information to stakeholders.
  • Undertake field testing or site-based investigations, compile data, and assist with analysis and evaluation.
  • Coordinate site or field technical activities, including analytical setup and managing subcontractors.
  • Consult with design stakeholders to optimize project outcomes and explain technical information effectively.
  • Act as Project Manager for routine projects, responsible for project documentation and client interactions.
  • Supervise daily team activities, allocate tasks, and provide feedback on performance.
  • Prepare proposals and pricing information for routine projects as needed.
  • Support and coach less experienced team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A relevant university degree in Geology or Earth Science, plus at least 3 years of experience in the related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • A strong understanding of Engineering Geological principles and practices.
  • Good technical writing and data interpretation skills.
  • The capacity to work with diverse clients and projects.
