Job Summary

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Paediatric Cardiologist to join our team at Starship Children's Health, Auckland. This is a 6-month fixed-term, full-time position beginning July 2025. You will work closely with 11 other cardiologists and 3 cardiac surgeons, as well as 4 fellows in training, to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

About Our Service
The Paediatric and Congenital Cardiac Service (PCCS) is a leading national service providing cardiology and cardiac surgical services for infants and children with congenital and acquired heart disease. We serve a catchment population of four and a half million and perform over 400 surgical cases per year, including 320 bypasses. Our team is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care that meets the unique needs of each individual child and their family.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert medical care to patients with congenital and acquired heart disease
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and case conferences
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement treatment plans
- Contribute to teaching, audit, and research activities within the department

Requirements
- Eligible for Locum Tenens/vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collegial environment
- Ability to participate in departmental activities, including teaching, audit, and research
