We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Liaison Psychiatry team at Auckland City Hospital.

About the Role

The successful candidate will provide specialist psychiatric assessment and consultation to inpatients in Auckland City Hospital, as well as patients in the emergency department. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care.

As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to teaching and training programs for Auckland City Hospital and Auckland Medical School, and supervise registrars and interns. We value collaboration and teamwork, and encourage open communication and mutual support among our staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist psychiatric assessment and consultation to inpatients in Auckland City Hospital and patients in the emergency department
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that meet the needs of individual patients
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care
  • Contribute to teaching and training programs for Auckland City Hospital and Auckland Medical School
  • Supervise registrars and interns
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A medical degree and registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
  • FRANZCP or equivalent qualification
  • Relevant experience in psychiatry, preferably in liaison or consultation-liaison psychiatry
