About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Nurse to join our dynamic team in the Emergency Department at Wellington Regional Hospital.

As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work independently and collaboratively to provide comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of illnesses or injuries.

Your advanced nursing expertise and clinical leadership skills will enable you to manage patient flow efficiently and ensure the highest level of care and safety for all patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing advanced, comprehensive care for patients in the emergency setting.
  • Performing assessments, diagnosing illnesses, and developing treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams as applicable.
  • Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and support staff to manage patient flow efficiently.
  • Ensuring the highest level of care and safety for all patients.
  • Utilising advanced clinical judgment and critical thinking to make informed, timely decisions.

About You

We are looking for a recognised advanced practice nurse with a passion for ongoing learning and development. The successful applicant will have proven advanced emergency nursing expertise and additional knowledge, attributes, and experience ideal for this position include:

  • Experience in emergency nursing (Minimum 3-4 years) or related practice area.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the NZ health system and the district environment.
  • Experience in leadership, management, and coaching.
  • Proficiency in advanced nursing procedures.
