This is a clinical leadership role operating across the continuing care continuum within the adult mental health services for Whangarei and Kaipara. The Clinical Head of Department will provide leadership across General Adult Community, Te Roopu Whitiora, Intensive Care Team, Dual Disability and Kaipara Community Team.

The successful candidate will be one who is looking to make a contribution to improving outcomes for people accessing mental health care, in particular for Maori, with a focus on addressing inequity. As a member of the clinical governance forum, it is essential to have an interest in quality improvement, service development co-design, and outcome measures.

This role offers an opportunity to shape and lead the service at an exciting time of development and innovation. You will work closely with the General Manager and Clinical Director to provide professional leadership with the aim of providing a high-quality service to meet the community, service, and organisational objectives.

You will have or be eligible for specialist (or locum tenens) registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in a Psychiatry vocational scope of practice.
