**About the Role**

We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated individual to lead and facilitate inter-sectoral and cross-organisation regional economic development strategies and implementation plans. The successful candidate will build trusted relationships and partnerships to achieve regional economic development outcomes through transformational activities and projects.

The ideal candidate will communicate timely information and insights to support decision-making at local, sub-regional and regional scales. They will monitor and evaluate the implementation of regional economic development initiatives against agreed performance targets and measures.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Advocate for the Waikato region and position it nationally and internationally as a premier investment location.
  • Manage the regional profile and tell the Waikato economic story.

**Requirements**

  • Demonstrated ability to promote collaboration and transparency while maintaining a strong focus on achieving meaningful outcomes for the region.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to influence, inform, and inspire diverse audiences.
  • Awareness of economic trends, challenges, and opportunities.

**Qualifications and Experience**

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in commerce, social sciences, regional development or a related field.
  • 10+ years proven experience in a senior management role or working in economic development.
