Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Technical Lead to join our team in Auckland. As a Technical Lead, you will play a critical role in establishing and managing a brand-new Data Services squad. The primary focus of this squad will be streaming data from all platforms within the IDEXX Veterinary Software portfolio.
You will be responsible for driving the vision for data solutions, designing architectures to capture, integrate, organize, centralize, and maintain data. As a leader, you will oversee a team of data management experts, focusing on handling disparate data sources and developing frameworks to organize data systems and applications, ensuring optimal access, performance, and security. Your team will align data architecture with enterprise architecture to ensure smooth operations and collaborate with business stakeholders, providing guidance and reference materials to support the ongoing evolution of the IDEXX data ecosystem.
We utilize modern web technologies, including TypeScript, Go, and cloud-native architectures, to develop robust and maintainable solutions. With a strong emphasis on DevOps and automation, you'll contribute to CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and system reliability. If you're passionate about building cutting-edge applications in a fast-moving environment and enjoy working with event-driven architecture, domain-services, containerization, and distributed systems, we'd love to hear from you.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science/information systems or an industry qualification equivalent.
- 7+ years' experience as a Software Engineer.
- Proven technical people leader and influencer.
- Experience in evolving culture and process towards better engagement, agility, automated testing, and DevSecOps.
- Systems and/or software design.
- Familiarity with modern web technologies (such as React), and cloud backend technologies (such as GoLang, Typescript, .NET, Ruby, Java).
- Agile processes including Scrum, Kanban, and/or others.
