Compassionate Animal Program Leader

Our programs and team of over 11,000 staff and volunteers are dedicated to building strong, resilient communities across the country.

The organization's mission is to enhance the lives of others through animal-assisted therapy.

We are looking for a compassionate individual to lead our Therapy Pet team in Palmerston North.

As a Therapy Pet Team Leader, you will:

  • Support and mentor our team of Therapy Pet Volunteers
  • Recruit new volunteers and match them with suitable facilities
  • Liaise with facilities visited by volunteers
  • Provide monthly reports and coordinate with local St John teams
  • Organize recognition events and team connections

This is an unpaid voluntary position that requires at least 2-3 hours of commitment per week.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Excellent communication skills and an empathetic personality
  • Previous team management experience
  • A love for animals and experience working with them is a plus
  • Be at least 18 years old and have a clean criminal record
