Critical Care Registrar

Southern District Health Board, a leading healthcare provider in New Zealand, is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated registrar to join our team in the Intensive Care Unit. As a critical care registrar, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our experienced consultant and senior nursing staff.
The unit is a mixed medical and surgical intensive care unit, offering exposure to trauma, neurosurgical, cardiothoracic, and pediatric intensive care cases. You will have the opportunity to work with a state-of-the-art 22-bed unit, which has recently been refurbished. Additionally, secondments to Anaesthesia for registrars in ICU core training are available to complete CICM training requirements.
We offer a comprehensive education program, including weekly seminar-based education, fortnightly simulation sessions, and teaching targeted at primary and fellowship exams for CICM. In-house echocardiography and ultrasound teaching are also available. Furthermore, we provide access to a range of retail discounts and subsidized gym membership.
This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the NZRDA SECA and STONZ SECA. The salary will fall between $126,338 - $240,440 dependant on relevant experience.
Requirements:
- Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand or eligibility for general or provisional general registration.
- A minimum of three years' post-qualification experience.
