Job Description
This exciting opportunity is for a Support Worker to join our team in North Shore. As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for supporting adults with intellectual disabilities to live independently and participate fully in their communities. Your role will involve:
Daily Activities
- Supporting individuals with daily activities such as shopping, cleaning, and showering
- Assisting with emotional regulation skills, helping individuals to recognize and respond to emotional overwhelm
Community Involvement
- Encouraging participation in community activities and hobbies, such as swimming, art, and crafts
- Supporting individuals to plan and achieve their goals, make decisions, and connect with their Korean community
Teamwork
- Working collaboratively with other professionals to ensure high-quality care and support
Requirements
- Confident communication in Korean and English
- Knowledge and respect for Korean culture
- Calm nature and confidence to work with challenging behaviors
- Comfortable using computers and tablets daily
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility to work rostered shifts
- Full NZ drivers' license
