Job Description

In this role as a Child Health Care Professional, you will be responsible for delivering care that is guided by Te Ao Maori knowledge and practices. This will involve implementing Toi Ora systems of care, helping to achieve Te Toi Ahorangi and Pae Ora, and expanding your clinical expertise while embedding Maori health values into everyday practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Embed Maori health values into everyday practice with support from Te Pare o Toi.

About the Team/Service/ Location

The Arotamariki Inpatient Service is a place of collaboration, growth, and meaningful impact, where every team member is committed to whanau-centred, kaupapa Maori care. Based in the beautiful Bay of Plenty, this role offers the opportunity to work within a supportive, culturally grounded team, backed by ongoing professional development and mentorship.

About You

We are looking for an exceptionally courageous, passionate, and driven Registered Nurse who embodies manaakitanga and is dedicated to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. A desire to integrate Te Ao Maori into clinical practice is essential.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current New Zealand Nursing Registration and Annual Practicing Certificate.
  • Experience in paediatric nursing or a strong interest in working with tamariki and whanau.
  • Commitment to Maori health equity and culturally responsive care.
  • Ability to work rostered shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
