Rotorua Youth Centre is seeking a highly skilled and empathetic Youth Worker/ Kaiārahi to join our team. This critical role involves supporting young people (taiohi) aged 12 to 21 years who require assistance with re-engaging in education, training, or employment, as well as connecting them with people and support services.

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of two years' experience working with youth and preferably hold a Level 4 relevant qualification. They will be responsible for facilitating group work and 1:1 support sessions to help taiohi develop essential skills and knowledge, focusing on creating a supportive network that extends beyond their time with us.

Our program focuses on comprehensive needs assessment and support, addressing the unique needs of each taiohi. We also offer a range of youth development opportunities, including outdoor experiential learning, team activities, creative programs, and health and wellbeing services. Our goal is to empower taiohi to build a vision for their future and stay motivated to achieve their aspirations.

The Youth Worker/ Kaiārahi will take a youth-led approach, empowering taiohi to have a stronger voice and increase responsibility for themselves. Strong relationships are at the core of delivering effective support, and the Youth Worker/ Kaiārahi will maintain collaborative relationships with caregivers, whānau, and community and government support agencies.
