We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Design Specialist to join our Hardware Solutions Team in Christchurch, NZ.
The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong commitment to quality, and demonstrated industry experience in electronic design positions. They should be proficient in eCAD systems, particularly Cadence OrCAD and Allegro, and have knowledge of the theories, practices, and procedures relating to electronic product design, test, and equipment/tools applied in the real world.
This role involves working within a multi-disciplined team responsible for on-machine construction machine guidance system components. As an Electronics Design Specialist, you will make essential contributions to hardware product design and manufacture, focusing on schematic & board layout design as well as supporting prototype build & test for devices incorporating technologies such as GNSS receivers, IMUs, Bluetooth, WLAN, and other radio technologies.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- The conversion of market requirements into engineering specifications and technical solutions.
- Contributing to the development of schedules.
- Oversight and implementation of detailed electrical design.
- Working with Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) to ensure timely delivery of quality electronic component designs.
In this role, you will also take responsibility for electrical design quality according to international design and manufacturing best practices, including Design for Manufacture & Test (DFM, DFT). You will support related project activities such as firmware/hardware integration bring-up, DFMEA, field testing, compliance, reliability, and HALT testing.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- BSEE, B.Eng (Electrical & Electronics), B.Eng (Mechatronics), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated industry experience in a relevant engineering design position.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
