Tikanga Māori Focused Research Assistant

About the Role
Waitemata District Health Board is seeking a skilled Research Assistant to contribute to our Māori Health research team. As a Research Assistant, you will be responsible for collecting and managing hospital data, engaging with stakeholders, and contributing to report writing and/or academic publication.
Responsibilities include:
- Working closely with researchers and clinicians to advance knowledge and improve outcomes for Māori communities
- Developing and implementing data management systems to support research projects
- Providing data analysis and insights to inform decision-making
- Collaborating with iwi and other stakeholders to ensure data relevance and accuracy
About the Team
- Passionate about improving health outcomes for Māori communities
- Strong understanding of Tikanga Māori, Te Ao Māori and Mātauranga Māori
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
- Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively
About You
- Tertiary degree in a relevant field
- Minimum 3 years' experience in health or research
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
